Substrate check and preparation
Ensuring the floor and wall substrate is sound, clean and prepared to accept a membrane.
Wet Area Waterproofing
Membranes for laundries and internal wet areas, including new work and remedial repairs.

Laundries are often overlooked. They are smaller than bathrooms, they get less attention during a build, and yet they contain a washing machine, a tub, floor wastes and plumbing connections — everything needed to release a large volume of water at once. Diamond Seal Waterproofing waterproofs laundries and internal wet areas across Sydney.
Wet area waterproofing also extends to other spaces where water is expected or possible: internal drying areas, utility rooms, and areas around plumbing fixtures. Where a kitchen has particular water exposure or sits above occupied space, waterproofing may also be relevant there, and can be discussed as part of the scope.
A hose failure or an overflowing tub in an unwaterproofed laundry sends water straight into flooring, wall frames and, in apartments, the unit below. Unlike a slow bathroom leak, this happens in minutes.
Day to day, laundries also deal with splashing at the tub, condensation, damp floors and constant humidity. Over time, that combination degrades unprotected substrates, encourages mould at the wall base and lifts skirtings and joinery kicks.
Ensuring the floor and wall substrate is sound, clean and prepared to accept a membrane.
Applying the appropriate primer so the membrane bonds to the substrate reliably.
Bond breakers and reinforcement at floor-to-wall junctions and around wastes, tap sets and machine connections.
Applying membrane to the floor and to wall areas exposed to splash and fixture contact.
Confirming the floor drains to the waste so overflow water is directed away rather than held.
Allowing full cure and protecting the membrane from damage before tiling or the final floor finish.
Waterproofing gives a laundry a chance of containing a hose or tub failure instead of spreading it.
Constant humidity and splash exposure do less harm when the substrate is protected.
Laundries and small wet areas are worthwhile jobs, not an inconvenience.
Same detailing standards applied across all wet areas in the property.
If any of these sound familiar, it is worth having the area assessed before the damage spreads further.
